Software Engineer  top

Job Description

  • Prototype, develop, and deploy new features and functionality for company’s platform and internet products

  • Work closely with Product Management in defining product requirements translating them into technical specifications

  • Support and enhance current products with new features

  • Responsible for performance and scalability optimizations of various components of the company’s platform

  • Provide project estimations and LOE for roadmap features

  • Manage time effectively with minimal supervision to ensure that projects release on-time

  • Develop comprehensive unit test harnesses for all code developed

  • Apply best practices and proactively fill the gaps throughout the iterative development cycle

  • Perform production support and troubleshooting

  • Interface with 3rd party vendors and technology partners regarding integration issues

    • BS or MS in Computer Science or related engineering field

    • 5+ years in Software Development, with at least 3 years in internet based products

    • Ability to meet aggressive implementation deadlines

    • Proficiency with J2EE and one or more Java Application Framework (Struts, Spring, Tiles, etc.) 

    • Thorough understanding of agile development methodologies and processes

    • Experience in designing and building real-time statistical engines

    • Experience in working on projects related to content aggregation and content federation

    • Experience with database related development (SQL, JDBC, Hibernate)

    • Inversion of Control/Dependency Injection experience (spring/hivemind/pico container)

    • Knowledge of JBoss and JMS is a plus

    • Expert understanding of Web Standards (HTML, DHTML, AJAX, XML, XSL, JavaScript, Web Services, RSS).

    • Strong teamwork and communication skills

Job Description

  • Graphic Artist is responsible for concept development, execution, and roadmap of all creative deliverables for company including consumer website

  • Develops and executes design and layout solutions with a high level of proficiency and artistry, including graphic concepts, storyboards, layouts, graphics, photos, icons, color schemes, interface features, and transitions

  • Work with Marketing team to observe usability studies and translate the findings into design improvements

  • Integral part of defining the company's brand identity and setting the design strategy for company and consumer website

  • Create interface prototypes for user feedback

  • Create and help document all user interface guidelines and style guide

  • Manage the direction of any third party creative support including freelancers and agencies

Requirements  top

  • Solid Interactive Portfolio with 5+ years of experience in Interactive Design with strong execution skills

  • Strong strategic, creative and conceptual abilities

  • Well-rounded understanding of graphic design, information architecture, usability, web technologies, interactivity guidelines, and experience design

  • Passion for delivering quality user experiences

  • Must understand how user research and marketing data fits into driving the design requirements for the site

  • Working knowledge of capabilities of different platforms and browsers, and their design constraints on the web

  • Widget design experience a plus

  • Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash + Action script is required
