| Who will win Today's Matchup
between the New Orleans Hornets and the Los Angeles
Lakers? | | |
| |
NBA: Los Angeles Lakers (45-19) at New
Orleans Hornets (43-20) Friday Mar 14th, 8:00 pm ET,
NBALP
Richard (0-0)
The
Hornets are a great team; Byron Scott may be Coach of the Year
and Chris Paul is a deserving MVP candidate. Their up-tempo
style was too much for the aging Spurs on Wednesday night but
if there’s one team they need keep up with it’s the
Lakers (17-3 in their last 20). Last time they met, the
Hornets looked washed up as the Lakers scrubbed them out in a
29-point trouncing in New Orleans Arena. Lather, rinse,
repeat. |

Chris
Paul was unstoppable in Wednesday's game vs. the Spurs and
Tony Parker. Now imagine what Paul will do to a Derek Fisher
or Jordan Farmar. Beyond Paul, the Hornets have an all-star in
David West, and Tyson Chandler will be much too quick for the
stone-footed Pau Gasol. With Peja and MoPete on the wings, the
New Orleans Hornets have the perfect balance of power,
athleticism and sharp-shooting, not to mention enough athletic
wings, such as Wright and Wells to hassle Kobe
Bryant. |

Michael
Beasley PF | Kansas
St. Wildcats| Washington, D.C.| Height: 6-10 | Weight: 235
lbs.
A rare blend of power and athleticism, Michael "Beastly"
is every scout's pick to be drafted #1 overall in the upcoming NBA
draft. Beasley is averaging 26.5 points and 12.5 rebounds, tops in
the nation and took home 17 of 19 first place votes to be elected
the AP Big 12 Player of the Year, the second freshman ever to do so
(Kevin Durant being the first). Beasley had 26 double-doubles (NCAA
freshman record), scored 44 points in a game (Big 12 record), and
his scoring average is on the verge of breaking the Big 12 record.
Watch Beasley dominate the court in the Big 12 tournament this week
on Jacked.com, as he tries to lead his team to
the NCAA tournament starting with Texas A&M today. |

NBA: Orlando Magic (42-24) at Miami Heat
(11-52) Friday Mar 14th, 7:30 pm ET, NBALP
Two seasons removed from being NBA champs, the
Heat no longer have Shaq’s inside presence, they’ve lost Wade to
season-ending surgery, and their starting counterpart to Orlando
All-Star Dwight Howard is backup center Mark Blount – who?! Miami
might suffer a beating so bad they’ll get docked 2 losses! Wait a
second…there’s a bright side here…they already played their “Take 2
Losses in 1 Day” card last Saturday!
What can I say – I’m a
glass half full kind of a guy. |
